JASCO, a leading manufacturer of polarimeters since 1967, is proud to introduce the new P-2000 multi-option polarimeter. The P-2000 is designed as a customizable polarimeter with various options for arange of applications and budgetary requirements. The instrument system can also be field upgraded as application requirements change. Options such as polarizers, wavelength filters, lamps and photomultiplier detectors provide a wide range of analytical wavelengths from UV-Vis to NIR.
Advanced instrument control
- Two graphical user interfaces are available including a newly redesigned intelligent remote module (iRM) with a color LCD touch screen and Spectra ManagerTM II software, the latest version of JASCO’s innovative cross-platform spectroscopy software.
- Both of these control and analysis interfaces allow full-system control and advanced data processing.
- 21 CFR part 11 compliant versions for both interfaces can be ordered as an option. The iRM conveniently guides the operator through routines from data acquisition to data processing. The obtained data can be automatically printed to USB printers, or saved to a compact flash memory card for further processing on a PC.
High speed, precision and accuracy
The P-2000 offers a response speed as fast as six degrees per second to provide reproducible data for each measurement with a resolution of 0.0001o. A wide dynamic range of up to ±90o enables the system to measure chiral compounds over a broad range of concentrations. The sample chamber is equipped with an integrated temperature probe; the current temperature is constantly updated on the instrument control screen.
Spectra Manager™
JASCO is the first instrument manufacturer to offer a powerful 32 bit Windows® software platform for control of its full range of spectroscopy instrumentation as well as complete analysis and display of any kind of spectral data. Spectra Manager tm is an innovative approach to a cross-platform package setting a new standard for ease of use and allowing users to work seamlessly between several different types of instrumentation.

The NFS Series of scanning near-field optical microspectrometers have been optimized as a new solution for nanotechnology applications. Traditionally, characterization methods on the nanometer scale consist of topography observation using an electron or scanning probe microscope or elemental analysis using an x-ray microanalyzer. These methods deliver images with high spatial resolution but they cannot obtain chemical information from a sample surface. On the other hand, traditional FT-IR, photoluminescence, or Raman microspectroscopy instruments can provide chemical data for a sample, but the spatial resolution is determined by the diffraction limit of light, limited to the wavelength of the light used. Scanning near-field microspectrometers allows characterization at the extreme nano level range exceeding the diffraction limit of light. Introducing light into a fiber probe with an aperture of a hundred to several hundred nm produces near-field light of the same size as the probe aperture. Bringing the sample close to the probe aperture (within 100 nm) allows spectroscopic observations with a spatial resolution of several hundred nm as a result of the interaction of the near-field light with the sample surface.
System Features
- Integrated scanning near-field microspectrometer systems.
- Spectroscopic measurements with spatial resolutions between a hundred to several hundred nm.
- JASCO near-field probes provide reproducible spectral measurements and are available with specified dimensions.
- Topographical measurement of sample features with simultaneous spectral measurements.
- Can support illumination-collection, collection, and illumination (transmission) modes.

The NRS Series of bench top, singly dispersive micro-Raman spectrometers are based on JASCO’s proven technology emphasizing sensitivity, reliability, and ease of operation from a PC-controlled optical system.
The innovative instrument design ensures freedom from daily adjustments and alignment. A specially designed honeycomb optical base plate is the foundation for the entire instrument guaranteeing alignment and stability. The laser(s), enclosed microscope, software-switched optics and a unique aberration-corrected polychromator with CCD detector provide an integrated package that is compact enough to fit on a laboratory bench.
With superb stability and effortless software controlled optics, the NRS Series Raman systems offer performance second to none, and with no time-consuming realignment. Simply insert the sample, focus, and collect the spectrum. The integrated, automated x-y-z mapping stage with auto-focusing option allows full PC control. Complete operator safety is maintained by the fully enclosed automated sample chamber door which provides a 120 degree opening to allow full microscope access.
All NRS Series Raman instruments include a color CCD sample viewing system with image capture capability. For additional flexibility, a trinocular microscope attachment can be added for direct binocular viewing. Utilizing the same basic optical system, we’ve designed a family of micro-Raman spectrometers that offer a range of capabilities from simple, single laser, single grating instruments to advanced research grade systems with low wave number measurement, wavelength extension from the deep UV to NIR, and the ability to use or add up to six lasers.
NRS-5000 and NRS-7000 Series Raman
The performance and functions expected on a micro-Raman spectrometer are all provided with the NRS-5000 and 7000 series Raman systems, assuring consistent performance for rapid acquisition of high quality data with automated system control and minimal optical adjustments.
For application expansion, an automated multi-grating turret, 2 internally mounted detectors and a maximum of 8 lasers ranging from the UV through the NIR are capable of integration with the instrument system, all optical components are PC controlled for maximum flexibility with minimum user interaction.
NRS Features
- Research-grade model assuring high spectral quality
